Not many miles in CT, but some pretty sights. I’ve read (and now experienced) that CT is a reminder that the AT is a mountain trail; after relatively easy times in parts of VA, WV, MD, PA and NY, CT is the “warmup” for the mountains of VT, NH and ME.
Hope you enjoy these CT shots!

- This crew was setting some heavy stone steps!
- Rightfully proud of their work, and posing (any reason for a rest break!)
- CT sunset
- Want privacy?
- Generous hikers Tom & Todd shared their breakfast of boiled eggs and cheesy biscuits with me! Tom was full of good advice!
- For a couple of miles, the trail follows a flat road along the Housatonic River.
- Daylilies along the Housatonic River
- Blue Sky!
- The bright orange of these mushrooms caught my eye. Wish I knew if they were edible – I saw loads of them!
- Sky reflected in a flat stretch of the Housatonic
- Nearing the Connecticut/Massachusetts border
- Reaching the Massachusetts line; 10 states down and 4 to go!
