I’ve just added a New Jersey collection under “Mike’s Galleries”. The variety of terrain and scenery in New Jersey surprised me!

I very much enjoyed the New Jersey photos and info!
Are you in Brooklyn now for the 4th of July weekend?
When do you anticipate finishing the trail?
I made potato salad last night and have a watermelon chilling.
Having Mom over for dinner tonight. She requested hot dogs!
I will be able to catch her up on your blog and other photos.
Love, Jrae
Thanks aunt jan! We were in bk for the weekend, now back to the trail. Mmmm, watermelon! Wish I woulda had some at home – needless to say, but that’s a bit heavy to carry on your back.
We’ll hit the trail again Tuesday. AM. Think we’ll finish the 3rd or 4th week of August. Sounds like you’re having a great American holiday meal!
Hi Mike & Mel, I’m greatly enjoying your blog & Melissa, glad the homesickness seems to have passed!! Have a great 4th & happy trails to you!!
Hey, Ahmama! We’ve spent Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and Monday in NYC at Melissa and Doni’s. We are hitting the trail as soon as we can get there today. We’re both homesick, still (and I think that’s a good thing; I think it means that we’re anxious to whip off the miles and get this thing done!). We needed the off-trail time to gain some weight, clean our gear, laundry, replace a few things and Melissa had some wedding-prep business to take care of. Didn’t get much time to relax and socialize, but enough for now!
Thanks Ahmama! The transition back to the trail was a little easier this time. Hope you’re enjoying your pool this summer! We got to swim in a lake today and it was soooo refreshing!
