It’s 8:03 – shuttle leaves in a few minutes to head back to the trail after our first town day/night. Hope my toes have recovered a bit. Here’s the latest from the BTL (blistered toes league); Mike 4, Mel zero (it’s a shutout!). Hope that didn’t jinx Mel’s toes!

Re: the blister count…. Are those Merrells Mike’s wearing in the pancho? I think they are! Lose em and you’ll lose the blisters!!!!
Me and my merrells are still at the zero for blister count! Just depends on your own fit I guess. Mike’s feet are on the mend. 🙂
Love reading the updates and seeing the pics. You seem to be moving along so fast. It looks fantastic (from my comfy chair), wishing you sunshine and soft socks, Bestest, Jules & the gang
Blisters?
I thought you did a lot of trail walking at Black Creek Park to prepare for the big one?
Well anywho you better take good care of your toes, they are a very important part of your body to complete your very long journey.
I’m clueless when it comes to medical stuff, the only thing I have heard in regards to pain is if another part of your body hurts worse, you won’t think about the pain of your toes.
So have your trail buddy give you a good hard kick in the butt, that may do the trick.
Ha,ha,ha just kidding,take care of yourself,have fun,and be safe.
Thanks for staying tuned in, Perry (or should I say “Low Gear”?) I guess Black Creek was helpful, but just too flat to bother my feet. Feet are better now (as of 3/26). But I can use that hard kick in the butt if my knees start aching too much!
Mig and Mel – I was worrying about your toes just the other day – wondering if hikers lose their toenails like marathon runners do. I picked up on your aching blisters before your post. If you were a little baby, I would kiss every one of your little toesies and make it all better. As it is now, I wouldn’t go near your toes except in my prayers.
Don’t forget: you love to go a’wandering . . .
Love, Deb
Hikers DO lose toenails, but it’s usually from the mice in the shelters that nibble them off while you’re asleep!
Just caught up on your posts! Looking good guys! Have fun, take care of your feet & keep posting pix, they’re great!!
